Recently, I was talking about a certain super-large housing manufacturer (hereafter referred to as Company A) and heard an interesting story. The manufacturer has both steel-framed and wooden construction variations. Originally, steel-framed construction was strong, but the proportion of wooden construction has been steadily increasing and currently accounts for the majority.
I was very surprised to hear this, as the company was absolutely steel-based, but the reason for this was hilarious. With the recent boom in zero-energy housing and zero-energy subsidies, Company A also had a big internal call to "get as many zero-energy subsidies as possible!" As is common among housing manufacturers, they first tried to respond by installing a large amount of solar power generation and a large amount of equipment such as ENE-FARM. This certainly reduces energy, but the costs rise abnormally. As a result, there were many cases where the cart was turned down, with "we were able to secure subsidies, but we lost out to our competitors in the price war." Moreover, the most distressing voices were coming from the steel-framed houses, which are more disadvantageous in terms of insulation. The first reason was that the ratio of wooden construction there had to be high for these reasons.
"So what is the most cost-effective way to receive subsidies that is not related to equipment?" After thinking about this, we came up with the idea, which I always say: to improve the performance of windows. This is a very obvious idea, but when the field side noticed this, they started making many requests to the head office, such as "Improve the performance of the windows!" and "I want plastic sashes to be standardized!", and at Company A, the shift to wooden construction and high performance windows is progressing due to a bottom-up approach by employees driven by energy conservation standards.
I think the end result is a good thing, but this decline is happening because "for the residents" and "for the environment" are put on the back burner and the company's own convenience takes precedence over the rest of the day. Our company is by no means a company that "suppresses its own convenience," but at the very least we believe that the "residents," "environment," and "company convenience" are all on an equal footing.
To begin with, it uses a lot of energy during manufacturing, and even after living in it, it transmits heat intensely... You should know that there is absolutely no rationale for using this type of steel in the structure of a house, unless the building absolutely needs a steel frame, or fire regulations mean that wood construction is not possible.
