It seems that 93% of Germans consider it important to further expand renewable energy sources.
I would like to introduce an interesting article that was recently published by the Renewable Energy Foundation.

Here, I would like to highlight some particularly noteworthy results.
According to a public opinion survey conducted in September 2013 targeting 9 people, a total of 1,003% of people responded that the further expansion of renewable energy (hereafter referred to as RE) was either "very important (93%)" or "important (66%)."
・In response to the question, "What do you think about the increase in the surcharge to promote renewable energy through the feed-in tariff system?", half (50%) answered that the surcharge amount was "appropriate," and 5% answered that it was "too low." In other words, the majority of respondents understood the increase in the surcharge.
- In response to the question, "What if the promotion of renewable energy was stopped in order to reduce electricity bills for average households?" 43% answered "It would be completely pointless" and 30% answered "It wouldn't make much sense." In total, 73% of people expressed a negative stance on stopping the promotion of renewable energy.
Roughly speaking, it was something like this.
If you only look at the Japanese news
We often hear reports along the lines of, "The levy was too high, leading to an outpouring of dissatisfaction, and the plan failed."
However, the results clearly show that this is not realistic.
A large majority of the population is willing to tolerate short-term pain and accept long-term advantages.
This means that we have no choice but to acknowledge that public opinion is very strong.
I think public opinion in Japan is probably at the same level.
There is no denying that there are forces at work everywhere that seek to distort public opinion.
Even if you are exposed to such distorted information, you can still make the right decisions.
I think you need to have the ability to think.
