Yesterday in Osaka, I participated in a panel discussion with Dr. Eri, President of Yamaguchi Prefectural University and Doctor of Medicine.
The professor is an expert on arteriosclerosis, and he said some very impressive things, so I'd like to share them with you.
・We are now in an age where cancer can be cured in its early stages (except pancreatic cancer), but arteriosclerosis will never improve. We cannot do more than maintain the status quo.
・It seems that heat shock prevention measures are aimed at the elderly because the incidence of brain and heart diseases caused by arteriosclerosis increases after people turn 60. However, the vicious cycle of gradually clogging blood vessels, which then causes blood pressure to rise and further clogging, progresses gradually over a period of about 40 years from around the age of 20. Therefore, people should live in warm homes from a young age.
In the first place, most doctors don't even know the above facts. Even if they did know, it wouldn't earn them a penny, so it's not surprising that some wouldn't say anything.
・Japanese doctors perform surgery in the first place. The system is such that they make no profit unless they prescribe medicine. Moreover, their profits skyrocket if they prescribe five or more types of medicine, so many doctors prescribe more than five types. Many people take medicine for high blood pressure and hyperlipidemia. However, these are like drugs. Once you start taking them, you have to keep taking them for the rest of your life. If you are prescribed such medicine, you should say, "First, I'll quit smoking and watch my diet and exercise for three months. If the numbers still don't improve, please prescribe the medicine."
In the West, it is rare for someone to be prescribed medicine or undergo surgery without first quitting smoking. In Japan, this is a very vague rule.
-If the results of a health check are poor, even if the standard values are strange from an international perspective, there is a problem that if the doctor does not take any action after seeing the results and the patient disappears, he or she will lose if sued.
I also heard many other interesting stories. What I realized was that, just like with housing, ordinary consumers (patients) should not just accept what doctors say, but should study well on their own, otherwise they will not be able to protect their health or property in this country.
This shows that it is not just the housing industry where strange standards and systems are rampant.
