Obon commemorative photo 2013
Obon commemorative photo 2013
Here are some excerpts from the photos I took during the Obon festival.

First, we had our annual beach barbecue, which is the end of the company's half-year period! This time, Yamaguchi's friend Nick, who is also a graduate of Cambridge University, joined us. So, there was a foreigner there that I had never seen before. However, Nick was very good at catching fish and speaking Japanese!

Next was a group photo of my high school reunion. It was a huge high school with 1 students per year, and 540 of them participated. I didn't know that it was possible to take a photo of so many people at once. The scene was very impressive. The opening at 180 o'clock was
Connecting with NHK in Tokyo, Takase, a fellow announcer, started off by announcing "The 2 o'clock news!!" and the venue was in a frenzy! There was also a video letter with "Four!!" from Razor Ramon HG, also known as Sumiya, who couldn't make it due to work. There were many other elaborate events, and the nine hours flew by until the after-party ended at 3:11.
Next was a commemorative photo shoot with my high school classmates and their families! The weather was great, and even though it had been a long time since we last met, the children quickly got along with each other... This is an annual event, and each year new faces appear. This year, there was also a wife who couldn't attend because her third child was born just the other day. It looks like there will be new faces again next year.

The next photo is the only elegant one. On the day I went to see Disney on Ice in Osaka, I had dinner at a very beautiful garden called "Taikoen." It has a similar atmosphere to the Maiko Hotel, but I didn't know that there was such a place in Osaka.

The last stop was the river. I couldn't even put my face in the water, but I was having so much fun. There were so many people that the clear water looks murky in the photo, but it's actually a really beautiful river. There were lots of fish, and a diving spot that was about three stories high, where some young people were trying their luck. The best part about playing in the river is that there's a Tarzan rope and shade, and most importantly, the water isn't salty. I'll definitely come back next year.
"Work hard and play hard" - I think this is what it comes down to.
