So far, two books have been published that include many of the recommended books issued by this organization.
I bought both books, but that doesn't mean I want to read all of the books they recommend.
Among them, I really wanted to read the book I'm introducing today.

The super readers of honz also praised it highly, and after reading it I could see why.
In fact, it seems that it won the 25th Kodansha Science Publishing Award (2009).

He is a professor in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Graduate School of Science, University of Tokyo.
The issue of global warming is often distorted by politics, making it difficult to determine the truth.
However, if scholars were to ignore such political influence and act purely from a scientific standpoint,
It's a well explained book.
However, it is written in a really easy-to-understand and interesting way, without using any difficult mathematics.
Although this person is a science major, he seems to be skilled at explaining things well to the general public.
I think he is what we call a "really smart person." In that sense, he is asking questions like, "What is the universe made of?"
I think this is also something that Murayama Hitoshi has in common.
This book gives a detailed account of how the Earth's temperature has changed over time.
Also, why do we know this? And how did we come to know this?
It is written in detail.
The first of these was the result of a drilling hole several hundred meters deep that was dug by a certain scholar in the Greenland ice sheet.
A hypothesis was put forward, and after being verified by various scholars and compared with results in other places, it has become accepted worldwide.
The process is also clear.
It's a glimpse into the history of pure global warming science, long before the IPCC got involved.
After reading this book, I learned that global cooling will not occur for at least 10000 years.
The deep ocean currents have a huge impact on the Earth's climate.
A temperature change of more than 2 degrees Celsius is a very large change even over a period of 10,000 years.
If the deep currents stop flowing, even in high latitudes such as the United States and Europe,
Warm regions may actually become colder due to the influence of warm currents.
Once the climate has changed significantly, it is unlikely to be easily changed.
I was able to understand things like that. Even if you're not interested in global warming, this is a very interesting read.
I would definitely recommend reading it.
